Our Dear Visitor,
This month I would like to step back and take a look at Social Protection as a versatile tool for poverty reduction and the protection of the poor and vulnerable not only in Ghana but throughout the world. In this brief letter I shall provide some broad understanding of what is referred to as Social Protection, look at the components of Social Protection and aspects of the Ghanaian situation.
Social Protection does not have the benefit of a universally accepted definition. I share with you five (5) different definitions from literature.
